ISO 9001:2015 (previously ISO 9001:2008)

At Thames Side we are extremely proud of our commitment to Quality, demonstrated by our certification to ISO 9001:2015 and our exceptionally low warranty claim rate.

ISO 9001:2015 is the updated version of the previous ISO 9001:2008 standard and it was published in September 2015. For companies such as Thames Side Sensors Ltd., who are already certified to ISO 9001:2008, a 3-year transition period was granted so it was not essential for us to comply with this new standard until September 2018.  However, we are proactive in constantly improving our QMS (Quality Management System) and we worked very hard to ensure that we were certified - 1 year before the 2018 deadline.

RoHS 2 Directive 2011/65/EU

All of Thames Side Sensors' load cells, junction boxes and weighing electronics manufactured since 22nd July 2014 are RoHS 2 compliant, according to the definitions and restrictions given by the Directive 2011/65/EU of the European Parliament and the European Council on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) in Category 9.

ATEX Equipment Directive, 2014/34/EU (formerly 94/9/EC)

Thames Side Sensors Limited can supply equipment that complies with the above directives for use in potentially explosive amospheres, in gas zones 0-1-2 and dust zones 20-21-22.

This directive entered into force on 20th April 2016 and has been carefully reviewed by our experienced ATEX personnel. It replaced the previous ATEX 95 Equipment Directive 94/9/EC (also known as Article 100a and Article 95). There were some significant changes introduced in the new edition of the directive, but these are mainly administrative and only concern the Notified Bodies. There are no additional compliance requirements placed upon Thames Side Sensors Ltd. and there are no changes to the Essential Health and Safety Requirements in Annex II.

ATEX certificates issued prior to April 2016 will still be valid.

OIML Approval

Inclusion of the OIML logo on a product data sheet indicates that it carries a certificate confirming that it meets recommendations defined by the International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML) in legal for trade use, as follows;

EN 1090 / CPR

A special version of the popular VC3500 / LA3500 weighing assembly is available at capacities 50,000kg, 75,000kg and 100,000kg (50, 75 and 100 tonnes) capacity, with appropriate CE marking and approval according to EN 1090 and the Construction Products Regulation (CPR) 305/2011.

Note: our MasterMount^® weighing assembly for silos / tanks / hoppers (capacity range 2 000kg to 30 000kg) is exempt from the requirements for EN 1090 / CPR approval and CE marking, due to its construction. Click here for more information on this product.
